Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Business Development Associate to join our team at the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines. As a key member of our Relationship Management team, you will play a critical role in supporting our Relationship Managers with business development activities, identifying opportunities, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Business Development Support: Develop a deep understanding of our Relationship member process using written and oral communication skills and a range of software tools.
  • qlik Platform Proficiency: Become proficient in the QLIK platform to support Relationship Managers with business development activities, identifying opportunities that leverage a member's capacity and anticipating maturities or changes in advance usage.
  • Meeting Coordination: Assist Relationship Managers with Credit Sales calls, coordinating and scheduling meetings with regulators, members, and interested parties.
  • Agenda Development: Develop agendas and finalize materials to support the agenda.
  • Outreach Materials: Update Outreach materials for prospective and current members, as well as for regulator meetings.
  • System Updates: Update systems with member contact data, document sales calls, and execute follow-up activities.
  • Reporting: Provide standard and ad-hoc reporting to internal and external audiences.
Requirements:
  • Education: Currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in Finance, Marketing, Data Analytics, or a similar field.
  • Experience: Senior in college, graduate, or post-graduate.
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Technical Skills: Proficient with MS Office tools and able to learn other software that support the team.
  • Communication Skills: Effective written communicator, with a high level of external contact.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Self-starter, able to work well without constant direction.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work effectively in an environment of tight deadlines and constant change.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Hourly Rate: $22.00 per hour.
  • Benefits: 11 paid holidays, 5 weeks of PTO, a work culture that values work/life balance, a hybrid work schedule of 3 days per week in office, 2 days per week work-from-home, 100% match of the first 6% contributed to the 401(k), and an additional 4% non-discretionary contribution to the 401(k) at the end of year.
