Job Summary:

The Business Development Manager is responsible for developing and managing relationships with small to medium-sized business clients. This role involves providing financial advice, offering tailored banking solutions, and excellent customer service. The Business Development Manager will work with the retail team to grow the bank's portfolio by attracting new business clients and deepening existing relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with business clients.
  • Understand clients' financial needs and provide appropriate banking products and services.
  • Conduct regular client meetings to review financial status and offer personalized advice.
  • Promote competent, motivated retail staff through training, counseling, supervision, and review of department activity and results.
  • Participate in networking events and community activities to build a presence in the local business community.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to cross-sell products and services.
  • Analyze clients' financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant data.
  • Provide insights and recommendations on financial strategies and solutions.
  • Prepare and present loan proposals and credit analysis to credit committees.
  • Stay updated on the bank's products, services, and market trends.
  • Achieve sales targets and contribute to the overall profitability of the bank.
  • Ensure compliance with banking regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Monitor and manage risks associated with client portfolios.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to ensure client satisfaction and retention.
  • Handle client inquiries, complaints, and issues promptly and professionally.
Requirements:
  • Commitment to the Midwest Heritage mission and willingness to promote the values of the organization.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient computer skills. Microsoft Office preferred (Outlook, Power Point, Excel, and Word).
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to relate to and interact with people in a friendly, professional manner.
  • Strong detail orientation including the ability to review forms for accuracy and completeness.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum two years of experience in banking with a focus on business banking or commercial lending.
Working Conditions:
  • The duties of this position are normally performed in a general office setting. This is a fast-paced work environment.
  • There is frequent pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects in a day.
  • Minimal Travel.
