Job Summary
The Financial Operations Manager will lead the daily functions of the Accounting department, reporting directly to the CFO. This role encompasses regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast development, payroll oversight, and the establishment of internal control policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and manage accounting operations, including general and cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Analyze historical and current operational records, trends, costs, estimated and realized revenues, and obligations.
  • Plan and coordinate ledger maintenance, report preparation, and operational statistics.

Essential Duties
  • Lead the financial reporting process, ensuring accuracy in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Manage the general ledger and chart of accounts, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, treasury, risk management, and tax compliance.
  • Oversee project accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions, including monthly project work-in-progress reports.
  • Develop, mentor, and evaluate accounting team members, providing ongoing training and professional development.
  • Establish and implement accounting policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate internal and external financial audits.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, payroll tax regulations, and other applicable standards.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, particularly in a leadership role.
  • Experience in financial reporting and analysis within the construction sector is essential.
  • Strong understanding of construction industry accounting principles and practices.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Strong management capabilities to motivate and delegate effectively within the accounting team.
  • Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and accounting software (Sage 300 CRE preferred).
  • Familiarity with payroll processing and compliance is preferred.
