Position Overview

The National Council of Young Men's Christian Associations of the United States of America is in search of a visionary Chief Financial Officer to become an integral part of the executive leadership team. In this pivotal role, you will spearhead the financial strategy and operations of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Provide comprehensive oversight of all financial functions, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and goals.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage accounting systems, conduct financial analyses, and implement robust internal controls.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and financial forecasting to support organizational growth.
  • Compliance and Audits: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and oversee annual audits.
  • IT Systems Management: Oversee financial IT systems to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Contractual Agreements: Manage and negotiate contractual arrangements to safeguard the organization's interests.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related discipline is required; a Master's degree and/or CPA designation is highly desirable.
  • Professional Experience: A minimum of five years of progressive leadership experience in financial management, preferably within the nonprofit sector.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Proven ability to build credibility and foster respectful relationships across diverse groups.
  • Analytical Proficiency: Strong aptitude for interpreting complex financial documents and applying analytical thinking to diverse challenges.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, capable of delivering compelling presentations.
  • Background Verification: A criminal background check will be conducted, which may include fingerprinting.
  • Physical Capability: Must be able to fulfill job responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations.
