We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst and Business Manager to join our team at Maine's Public Universities. This is a full-time position that will play a critical role in supporting the financial planning and analysis functions of the university.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain accurate financial reports, statements, and financial models to support budgeting and forecasting.
- Collaborate with divisional and college leadership to strategize, plan, and formulate budgets and financial forecasts.
- Liaise with departments such as human resources, risk management, and procurement to align financial goals and compliance standards.
- Execute accounting transactions and financial reconciliation, and prepare financial reports to aid in the development of the university's budgeting process.
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) or related master's degree preferred; will consider bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field with significant related experience.
- Demonstrated experience in the use of systems and applications relevant to finance and budget management.
- Ability to develop and maintain accurate reports of financial information, statements, and financial modeling.
- Ability to read and interpret University policies and procedures.
- Convey and present financial concepts to all audiences in ways they will understand.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work with Excel (formulas, pivot tables, etc.) and queries in a financial enterprise system.
- Experience in higher education.
