The Patient Access Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring a smooth and welcoming entry for patients into the healthcare facility. This position is tasked with creating an encounter for each patient who qualifies for hospital services. The Patient Access team is dedicated to maintaining accurate data entry, which includes essential demographic and financial details for every account.

Patient Access Representatives are responsible for a variety of procedural tasks, such as collecting necessary data elements, verifying insurance coverage, obtaining service authorizations, and managing collections for patient responsibilities, including any outstanding balances. Effective communication with patients, families, healthcare providers, insurance entities, and third-party payers is crucial for this role. A professional demeanor, strong communication abilities, and a commitment to teamwork are essential qualities for success in this position.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in basic computer operations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated excellence in customer service.
  • Outstanding organizational and communication abilities.
  • Completion of the core educational program, "Excellence at the Front End," is required within the first year of employment.
  • Preferred: One year of experience in hospital registration or a similar role.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
