Patient Access Coordinator

Overview:
The Patient Access Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring a seamless entry process for patients into the healthcare facility. This position is tasked with initiating encounters for patients who qualify for hospital services. The team is dedicated to maintaining precise data entry, which includes capturing demographic and financial details for each patient account.
The Patient Access team adheres to various procedural protocols, which encompass essential data elements, insurance verification, service authorizations, and the collection of patient responsibilities, including any outstanding balances. Effective communication with patients, families, healthcare providers, insurance entities, and third-party payers is a key component of this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize basic computer skills to manage patient information.
- Communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats.
- Exhibit outstanding customer service abilities.
- Demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills.
- Complete the core educational program, "Excellence at the Front End," within the first year of employment.
- Prior experience in hospital registration or a similar role is preferred.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent qualification.
