The team is dedicated to maintaining precise data entry, which includes essential demographic and financial details for each patient account.

Healthcare Access Coordinators adhere to various procedural protocols, encompassing data requirements, insurance validation, service authorizations, and collection of patient liabilities, including any outstanding balances.

This role is crucial for the financial success of all patient services and involves direct communication with patients, families, healthcare providers, insurance entities, and third-party payers. A professional demeanor, effective communication skills, and a commitment to teamwork are essential for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities:
Uphold consistency with administrative and departmental policies, demonstrating appropriate conduct, attire, attitude, attendance, confidentiality, professionalism, and dependability.

Accurately enter all necessary data for scheduling and registration, including patient demographics, financial details, guarantor information, and pertinent notes related to the encounter.

Verify patient eligibility and secure required authorizations for services provided.
Calculate and collect the estimated patient responsibility based on insurance benefits and contractual agreements, as well as any prior balances.
Conduct financial assessments to determine eligibility for assistance programs.
Clearly communicate the purpose of and obtain signatures from patients or legal guardians on all essential hospital documentation.
Represent the Healthcare Access department with professionalism and courtesy at all times.
Assist the hospital during internal or external emergencies as required.
Adapt to the department's needs to manage patient volume across all hospital areas, which may involve reassignment to different areas or changes in shift.
Contribute to the department's efforts in meeting established performance objectives.
Complete mandatory training as necessary.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


Education/Skills: High school diploma or equivalent; Basic computer proficiency; Strong verbal and written communication abilities; Exceptional customer service skills; Excellent organizational and communication capabilities; Successful completion of the core educational program, "Excellence at the Front End," is required within the first year of employment.

Experience: A minimum of one year in hospital registration or a similar role is preferred.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications: None required.
