Position Summary

We are seeking a committed and service-oriented professional to join our organization as a Department Manager at BNED. The successful candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of retail and departmental functions, aiming to provide exceptional support to our educational clientele. Key responsibilities include managing the assigned area, ensuring effective merchandising, and enhancing operational productivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the management of store operations and departmental activities in collaboration with the leadership team.
  • Oversee specific departments or operational tasks directly.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of retail and departmental processes.
  • Deliver superior customer service to the educational community.
  • Ensure the upkeep, merchandising, and operational excellence in the designated area.

Performance Expectations:

  • Work closely with the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager to facilitate daily operations.
  • Serve as Manager-on-Duty, providing assistance and direction to customers and team members.
  • Employ analytical skills to effectively manage daily operational tasks.
  • Delegate responsibilities and offer guidance to team members.
  • Maintain an inviting sales environment.
  • Support sales transactions and address customer inquiries.
  • Availability for a minimum of 30 hours per week.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent movement throughout the store.
  • Ability to remain stationary when necessary.
  • Lifting capabilities required.
  • Occasional bending, reaching, and climbing may be necessary.
