Role Overview

The Accounting division at Hive plays a pivotal role in ensuring the financial integrity and operational success of the organization. As the Accounting Manager, you will collaborate closely with finance and business teams, delivering expert guidance to uphold efficiency and precision within the accounting function. Your responsibilities will encompass managing general accounting activities, including the preparation of financial reports and analyses, audit support, bank account reconciliations, ledger maintenance, and payroll assistance. The ideal candidate will provide clarity on the company's overall performance and leverage their expertise to continuously enhance processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the VP of Finance on accounting operations to foster transparency and efficiency.
  • Ensure accurate accounting of expenses, maintaining thorough documentation.
  • Assist in preparing consolidated account schedules and quarterly reporting packages.
  • Oversee the accounting and analysis of revenue and gross-to-net models.
  • Contribute to modeling forecasted gross-to-net projections for insightful analysis.
  • Play a vital role in the annual audit and quarterly reviews with external auditors and executive management.
  • Execute month-end closing activities, including analysis, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare and deliver accurate financial analyses and key performance indicators to the Executive team promptly.
  • Support payroll processes and reporting as needed, adhering to relevant requirements.
  • Maintain internal controls and safeguards to mitigate risks effectively.
  • Assist with local and federal tax filings and reporting obligations.
  • Identify and implement process enhancements and automation to streamline operations.
  • Engage in ad hoc analyses and projects as necessary.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices related to data management.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures for the protection of information assets.
  • Report any actual or suspected security violations to the appropriate authority.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • 5-7 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally within a Big 4 accounting firm.
  • CPA certification is preferred.
  • Strong financial analysis skills and a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple functional areas.
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Proven success in a competitive, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Self-motivated and ambitious in achieving objectives.
  • A critical thinker capable of anticipating challenges and exploring alternative solutions.
  • Strong sense of urgency in addressing organizational needs.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $90,000 to $160,000, with actual compensation varying based on qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location. Base pay is part of a comprehensive compensation package that may include stock options.
