Role Overview

The Accounting division at Hive plays a pivotal role in maintaining the financial integrity and operational success of the organization. As the Accounting Manager, you will collaborate closely with our finance and operational teams to deliver exceptional guidance and expertise, ensuring efficiency and precision within the accounting function. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of general accounting tasks, including the preparation of financial reports and analyses, audit support, bank account reconciliations, ledger maintenance, and payroll assistance. The ideal candidate will excel in providing insights into the company's overall performance and will leverage their expertise to implement continuous improvement measures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the VP of Finance on accounting operations to enhance transparency and efficiency within the financial department.
  • Ensure accurate accounting of expenses, maintaining thorough and complete documentation.
  • Assist in the preparation of consolidated account schedules and quarterly reporting packages.
  • Oversee the accounting and analysis of revenue and gross-to-net models.
  • Contribute to the modeling of forecasted gross-to-net projections to provide valuable insights.
  • Play a critical role in the annual audit and quarterly reviews with external auditors, the accounting team, and executive management.
  • Conduct month-end close activities, including analysis, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare, review, and deliver accurate financial analyses and key performance indicators to the Executive team promptly.
  • Support payroll processes and reporting as needed, adhering to union payroll and prevailing wage standards.
  • Maintain internal controls and safeguards to mitigate financial risks.
  • Assist with local and federal tax filings and reporting obligations.
  • Identify and implement process enhancements and automation to streamline closing procedures and improve the accuracy of accounting records.
  • Engage in ad hoc analyses and projects as required.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices related to data management relevant to your role.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures regarding the protection of information assets.
  • Report any actual or suspected security and policy violations to the appropriate authority.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • 5-7 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally within a Big 4 accounting firm.
  • CPA certification is preferred.
  • Strong financial analysis skills and a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with a proven capacity to collaborate effectively across multiple functional areas.
  • High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated success in a competitive, entrepreneurial environment.

  • A critical thinker capable of anticipating challenges and considering alternative solutions.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $90,000 to $160,000, with actual compensation varying based on qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location. Base pay is one component of the total compensation package, which may also include stock options.
