Role Overview: Accounting Manager
The Accounting division at Hive plays a vital role in ensuring the financial integrity and operational success of the organization. As the Accounting Manager, you will collaborate closely with our finance and operational teams to deliver exceptional guidance and expertise, ensuring efficiency and precision within the accounting framework. Your responsibilities will encompass a range of general accounting functions, including the preparation of financial reports and analyses, audit support, bank account reconciliations, ledger maintenance, and payroll assistance. The ideal candidate will offer insights into the company's overall performance and leverage their expertise to implement continuous improvement strategies.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the VP of Finance on accounting operations to foster transparency and efficiency within the financial sector.
- Ensure precise accounting of costs, maintaining thorough and accurate documentation.
- Assist in the preparation of consolidated account schedules and quarterly reporting packages.
- Oversee the accounting and analysis of revenue and gross-to-net models.
- Support the modeling of forecasted gross-to-net projections to provide valuable insights.
- Play a crucial role in the annual audit and quarterly reviews with external auditors, the accounting team, and executive management.
- Conduct month-end close activities, including analysis, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare, review, and deliver accurate financial analyses and key performance indicators to the Executive team promptly.
- Assist with payroll processing and reporting as necessary, adhering to union payroll and prevailing wage standards.
- Maintain internal controls and safeguards to mitigate financial risks.
- Support all local and federal tax filings and reporting obligations.
- Identify and implement process enhancements and automation to streamline the closing process and improve the accuracy of accounting records.
- Engage in ad hoc analyses and projects as required.
- Stay informed about industry best practices for data management relevant to your role.
- Adhere to policies and procedures regarding the protection of information assets.
- Report any actual or suspected security and/or policy violations to the appropriate authority.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- 5-7 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally within a Big 4 accounting firm.
- CPA certification is preferred.
- Strong financial analysis skills and a deep understanding of accounting principles.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively across multiple functional areas.
- Highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated success in a competitive, entrepreneurial environment.
- Self-motivated and ambitious in achieving objectives.
- A critical thinker capable of anticipating challenges and exploring alternative solutions.
- A strong sense of urgency in addressing the needs of the organization.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $90,000 to $160,000. Actual compensation may vary based on various factors, including qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location. Base pay is one component of the total compensation package, which may also include stock options.
