Position: SBA Loan Underwriting Specialist

Employment Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $80,000 - $105,000 annually

We are looking for a proficient and seasoned SBA Loan Underwriting Specialist to enhance our team at Addison Group. The successful candidate will possess extensive experience in SBA and commercial loan evaluation, a thorough comprehension of SBA and USDA guidelines, and superior credit assessment capabilities. This position demands a professional adept at managing client relationships and collaborating effectively across various departments.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate SBA and commercial loan submissions in alignment with SBA Standard Operating Procedures, credit protocols, and documentation standards.
  • Conduct thorough analyses of creditworthiness, financial documents, and cash flow to ensure prudent lending decisions.
  • Engage closely with both internal and external stakeholders to foster relationships and facilitate a seamless underwriting process.
  • Stay informed on the latest SBA and USDA regulations and policies.
  • Guarantee that all underwriting practices adhere to credit union standards and regulatory frameworks.

Essential Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience in SBA or commercial loan underwriting.
  • Comprehensive understanding of SBA and USDA regulatory requirements.
  • Advanced proficiency in credit evaluation, financial statement analysis, and cash flow assessment.
  • Expertise in credit policies, procedures, and documentation practices.
  • Strong familiarity with SBA Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and individuals.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in analyzing business financial statements and tax returns with minimal oversight.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • In-depth knowledge of commercial lending compliance and credit regulations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with strong problem-solving and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capacity to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines while managing multiple projects.
  • Familiarity with core processing systems and department-specific software.
  • Strong work ethic, ability to prioritize effectively, adapt to changing circumstances, and contribute to the overall success of the credit union.
  • Solid understanding of commercial real estate and conventional underwriting standards.
