Senior Electrical Engineer RF Avionics Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer RF Avionics to join our team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our Avionics team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and verifying high-performance hardware for various flight vehicles.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop RF communication subsystems and components, with a strong background in RF principles and specific focus on UHF and S-bands.
- Perform detailed hardware designs for radio systems, including software-defined radios, RF front ends, and antennas.
- Coordinate with test engineers to design and implement performance and environmental testing for acceptance and qualification of radio hardware.
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to create and approve assembly drawings, and partner with production engineering to develop and support sustaining engineering plans and procedures.
- Develop, implement, and own test procedures, as well as plan and execute all phases of testing (development, acceptance, and qualification).
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Physics, or related field.
- 10+ years of proven experience in RF design of sophisticated aerospace/space hardware.
- Desire to work hands-on, both independently and as part of a team, throughout the design, verification, qualification, and production phases of the electronic product lifecycle.
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to our culture of inclusion.
- Working experience with software-defined radio (SDR) implementations of radio transceivers, RF testing equipment (Vector Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, signal generators, etc.), and RF PCB design, layout, verification, fabrication, and testing.
- Master of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Physics, or related subject areas.
- 15+ years proven experience in RF design, development, integration, test, and operation of avionics systems or vehicles, with background in launch vehicle hardware development, integration, and test.
At Blue Origin, we offer a competitive compensation package, including a base salary range of $167,088.00-$233,923.20, depending on location. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, paid parental leave, short and long-term disability, 401(k) with a company match of up to 5%, and an Education Support Program.
