About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our New Shepard Avionics team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our team, you will design, develop, and verify high-performance RF systems for our reusable suborbital rocket system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop RF communication subsystems and components for our New Shepard vehicle
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement RF system requirements
  • Develop and maintain test procedures for RF systems, including site tests and antenna placement planning
  • Partner with manufacturing engineers to create and approve assembly drawings
  • Work with production engineering to develop and support sustaining engineering plans and procedures
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Physics, or related field
  • 10+ years of proven experience in RF design of complex aerospace/space hardware
  • Strong background in RF principles, including UHF and S-band RF for vehicle and ground station development and link
  • Ability to work with multi-functional teams and partner for design implementation solutions
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Physics, or related subject areas
  • 15+ years proven experience in RF design, development, integration, test, and operation of avionics systems or vehicles
  • Proven experience specifying and crafting high reliability safety-critical electronics; familiarity with IPC-A-600/610, DO-254 and similar standards
