Lead Protection and Control Engineer

Position Overview
The role of the Lead Protection and Control Engineer is situated within the Protection and Controls Division of the organization. This engineer will collaborate with fellow engineers to execute protection and control initiatives that cater to our clients with minimal supervision. Interaction with both in-house and client engineers and designers will be a key aspect of this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in both new and existing Protection and Controls Projects within substations.
- Configure relays and perform relay setting calculations using tools such as ASPEN, AcSELerator 5010 (SEL), and GE URPC Software.
- Prepare settings in the required format and communicate them to the designated field Protection and Controls supervisor via IPS.
- Review and annotate protection schematics and elementary diagrams.
- Utilize MOB to assess equipment and materials specified by substation engineers for Protection Designers.
- Work with various equipment including transformers, circuit breakers, buses, reactors, line disconnects, protective relay systems (SEL, ABB, etc.), and SCADA systems.
- Coordinate the activities of team members within the department to ensure successful completion of protection and control projects.
- Provide mentorship and support to junior staff members.
- Take proactive measures when project goals related to protection and control are not being achieved.
Qualifications
- A Professional Engineer (PE) License is mandatory.
