Position Overview
WSP is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our dynamic team, focusing on underground projects. This role is pivotal in enhancing our Mine Engineering & Stability Team, contributing to a variety of global projects.

Your Role and Responsibilities
As a key member of our team, you will:

  • Provide expert consultation on both open pit and underground mining initiatives for clients worldwide.
  • Oversee diverse mining rock mechanics projects, including field investigations, laboratory assessments, and geotechnical analyses.
  • Ensure quality control and risk management during geotechnical and design processes, collaborating closely with senior leadership.
  • Lead complex, multidisciplinary projects, delivering comprehensive reports and drawings that meet client specifications.
  • Foster and maintain strong client relationships while identifying new business opportunities.
  • Guide and mentor junior engineers, supporting their professional development.
  • Engage in the strategic planning and execution of WSP's mining business objectives.
  • Promote a culture of safety and compliance within the team.

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • A degree in mining, geotechnical, or geological engineering.
  • 8-12+ years of relevant experience in consulting engineering or the mining sector.
  • Current registration as a Professional Engineer.
  • In-depth knowledge of rock mechanics and geological engineering.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Proven experience in project management and business development.
  • Excellent judgment and risk management capabilities.
  • Multilingual abilities are considered an asset.
