JOB TITLE: Facilities Operations Supervisor, Minnesota History Center

COMPENSATION: $72,240.00 annual minimum

STATUS & HOURS: Full-time, regular position (approximately 2,080 annual hours).

DESIGNATION: Supervisory

DESCRIPTION: This role is responsible for overseeing and managing the facility operations at the Minnesota History Center. The position includes the maintenance, enhancements, renovations, and repairs of the physical and environmental conditions of the facility, which encompasses systems, furnishings, fixtures, equipment, and grounds spanning 10 acres. The supervisor will also manage space planning and utilization within the facility, oversee mailroom functions, and ensure site security while prioritizing the safety and comfort of guests, staff, volunteers, and interns.

SUMMARY OF WORK: The key responsibilities include:

  1. Planning and managing renovations, enhancements, and repairs to the facility and its grounds.
  2. Developing long-term strategies and work plans for facility operations.
  3. Overseeing daily operational activities within the facility.
  4. Providing leadership in hiring, training, supervising, and motivating staff, interns, and volunteers while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of fundamental construction principles and practices.
  • Experience in managing daily building operations.
  • Project management experience and/or certification.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Capacity to multitask and perform well under pressure while adapting to changing priorities.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and creative thinking.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to provide direction and prepare reports.
  • Experience in delivering high-quality customer service.
  • Physical capability to perform a variety of job tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work a varied schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Valid driver's license.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Five years of experience in Facility Management within a public-facing organization.
  • Knowledge of building components, codes, and construction methods.
  • Experience in budgeting and financial reporting.
