Position Overview
The University of Minnesota is seeking a highly qualified individual for the role of Senior Faculty Member in Hematology, specifically focusing on classical hematology. This position is intended for a candidate at the Tenured Professor or Associate Professor level who will take on a pivotal leadership role as the Section Head of Classical Hematology within the Division of Hematology, Oncology & Transplantation (HOT).

Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
  • Leading the Classical Hematology Section, which includes a diverse team of early, mid-, and late-career faculty members.
  • Overseeing the development and mentorship of faculty and trainees in the section.
  • Acting as the Principal Investigator for the Hematology T32 Research Training Program, which has a long-standing history of funding.
  • Engaging in both inpatient and outpatient clinical care for patients with non-malignant hematological disorders.
  • Providing education and training to hematology-oncology fellows, residents, medical students, and advanced care providers.

Clinical and Research Environment
The Classical Hematology Program at the University of Minnesota serves as a major referral center, providing specialized care for a wide range of non-malignant hematologic conditions. Our facilities include:
  • A modern teaching hospital with 400 beds.
  • Outpatient clinics and a surgical center.
  • The Center for Bleeding and Clotting Disorders.
