Fitness Program Specialist

The Duke Health and Fitness Center is in search of a dedicated exercise specialist to enhance our services.
The primary responsibilities include ensuring the safety of clinical members during their exercise routines and assessing symptoms and vital signs before, during, and after exercise sessions.
Additionally, supporting group fitness classes both on land and in the pool is an essential part of this role. Weekend availability is mandatory for this position.Qualifications Required
Educational Background
A Bachelor's degree in exercise science or a related discipline is required.
Professional Experience
Level I:
No prior experience is necessary.
Level II:
At least 1 year of relevant experience is required. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Level III:
A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is necessary. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Certifications and Licenses
Level I:
BLS certification is required.
Level II:
BLS; ACSM certification (must be obtained within 1 year of employment)
Level III:
BLS (ACLS preferred), ACSM Clinical Certification as Exercise Specialist is mandatory.
