Nutrition Specialist

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
Position Summary:
The Nutrition Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering optimal nutritional therapy to patients. This includes conducting comprehensive nutritional assessments, formulating care plans, monitoring ongoing health conditions, providing nutritional education, and engaging in interdisciplinary communication to ensure exemplary patient care and education for patients, their families, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct thorough assessments of nutritional status and needs, identifying specific nutrient requirements based on age, health conditions, and individual circumstances.
• Evaluate dietary intake for adequacy and appropriateness, addressing issues such as nutrient imbalances or unhealthy dietary practices aimed at weight control.
• Assess the use of compensatory behaviors, including excessive exercise, purging, and other harmful practices.
• Develop individualized nutrition care plans tailored to the results of nutritional assessments.
• Create and implement personalized meal plans that address identified nutritional needs.
• Evaluate the suitability of physical activity plans and provide guidance on implementation and monitoring.
• Conduct initial nutrition assessments within 48 hours of patient admission, along with weekly follow-ups and discharge assessments as per established standards.
Qualifications:
• Registered Dietitian credentialed by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
• Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist in the relevant state.
• Minimum of one year of clinical experience.
• Preferred experience in the treatment of eating disorders.
