Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM

Position Summary:
The Clinical Nutrition Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering optimal nutritional therapy to patients. This involves conducting comprehensive nutritional assessments, formulating care plans, monitoring ongoing medical conditions, providing nutrition education, and engaging in interdisciplinary communication to ensure exemplary patient care and nutrition guidance for patients, their families, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct initial nutritional assessments to evaluate patients' dietary needs and identify specific nutrient requirements based on age, health conditions, and individual circumstances.
• Analyze dietary intake for adequacy and appropriateness, identifying any imbalances or excessive consumption of certain foods that may influence weight management.
• Assess the use of compensatory behaviors, including exercise, purging, and dietary supplements.
• Develop personalized nutrition care plans tailored to the nutritional assessments.
• Design and implement individualized meal plans to address identified nutritional needs.
• Evaluate the suitability of physical activity and create plans for implementation and monitoring as necessary.
• Complete initial nutrition assessments within 48 hours of patient admission, conduct weekly follow-ups, and finalize nutrition discharge assessments within the designated timeframe.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Dietitian credentialed by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
  • Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist in the relevant state.
  • A minimum of one year of clinical experience.
  • Experience in the treatment of eating disorders is preferred.
