Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Production Supervisor to join our team at Berry Global Inc. As a key member of our production management team, you will be responsible for providing technical, quality, procedural, and associate leadership on production shifts.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Leadership and Guidance: Provide guidance and leadership to production, quality, maintenance, and warehouse drivers during shift hours.
  2. Safety and Quality: Ensure adherence to safety, quality, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Safety Quality Foods (SQF), and ISO standards and programs.
  3. Performance Evaluation: Evaluate the performance of team members, enforce policy, and administer disciplinary action when necessary.
  4. Process Improvement: Make recommendations for improved and more efficient methods of operation.
  5. Production Reporting: Responsible for accuracy of production reporting (JDE/WEBEFF) and adherence to all manufacturing standards and production schedules.
  6. Communication: Effectively communicate company directives and plant information to staff via regular meetings.
  7. Production Coordination: Coordinate production activities for manufacturing areas to ensure production goals of EFF and MEEF are achieved.
  8. Documentation: Complete and submit production-related paperwork.
  9. Compliance: Responsible for maintaining and adhering to established Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP) and Safety Quality Foods (SQF) compliance requirements.
  10. Emergency Response: Respond to any emergency or potential emergency.
  11. Quality Control: Constant vigilance and participation in GMP and SQF practices.
  12. Problem-Solving: Identify and record problems relating to product, process, and quality systems.
  13. Training and Development: Track, confirm, and verify training for employees in the department and schedule training as needed and required.
  14. Continuous Improvement: Initiate action to prevent occurrences of any non-conformity of product or quality systems.
  15. Safety Leadership: Accountable for the safety of all employees for whom they are responsible through active engagement in safety activities and provides clear, consistent communication of safe work expectations.
  16. Risk Assessment: Actively lead risk assessment activities for their area of responsibility by driving prioritizing corrective and preventive actions to eliminate/reduce environmental, health, or safety risks.
  17. Meetings and Investigations: Lead all required meetings with safety (e.g., Pre-Shift, Departmental, Change Management, General Communications, Town Hall, etc.) and completes incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implements corrective actions accordingly in a timely and thorough manner.
  18. Employee Development: Ensure the proper training and development of all assigned employees for whom they are responsible.
  19. Goal Setting: Sets goals for their organizational unit; achieves goals and ensures that all employees understand and work toward achieving goals.
  20. Coaching and Feedback: Motivates and coaches employees through good communication and frequent performance feedback.
  21. Quality Assurance: Ensure that all Quality, ISO, and SQF Plans are understood and followed by staff.
  22. Quality Checks: Confirm that all quality checks are being performed by all production personnel as established by the Quality Plans.
  23. Quality Improvement: Work closely with the quality inspectors and supervisor to identify and minimize quality defects and complaints.
  24. Efficiency and Safety: Lead staff to accomplish activities in an efficient and safe manner by providing definition of job duties.
  25. Training Opportunities: Provide training opportunities for staff.
  26. Performance Evaluations: Conducting performance evaluations.
  27. Succession Planning: Defining criteria for personnel succession planning.
  28. Coaching and Counseling: Administer coaching/counseling as required in a timely manner.
  29. Attendance Records: Provide accurate attendance records to human resources indicating any point assessments.
  30. Policy Enforcement: Enforce personnel policies and procedures and complete and submit all associated paperwork in a timely manner.
  31. Safe Working Conditions: Maintain safe working conditions.
  32. Special Projects: Assist other departments with special projects as assigned.
  33. Production Management: Actively participate in production management team meetings as requested.
  34. Equipment and Tooling: Recommend/justify equipment/tooling purchases.
