Job Overview

Core Responsibilities:

The primary role involves the precise blending of materials following established formulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilizes various mixing techniques, including heating and cooling, to ensure materials meet specified color, scent, and other quality attributes as per client specifications. Conducts necessary processing, filtering, and sampling of materials.
  • Adheres to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, and internal safety protocols. This includes proper handling of containers and hazardous materials. Maintains a clean and organized workspace and promptly reports any discrepancies to management.
  • Keeps detailed records of all operational tasks. Accurately logs data on daily activity sheets and manages inventory, making necessary adjustments as required. Undertakes additional responsibilities related to dispensing and material management.

Required Qualifications:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory, along with a solid foundation in basic math skills (Metric and English systems).
  • 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with product characteristics, including color and scent, is advantageous, as is experience with computer systems and automated processes.
  • Knowledge and training in dispensing, batch processing, barcoding, automated dosing systems, and forklift operation are essential.
  • An understanding of the interplay between operational areas such as Bioton, WWTP, and Tank Farms is a plus.
  • Ability to manage routine tasks, multitask effectively, and follow instructions with moderate oversight is required.
  • Must demonstrate a strong work ethic, self-motivation, and a commitment to quality, recognizing the impact of daily activities on customer satisfaction.
  • Capability to meet production volume targets within established standards and timelines is necessary.
  • Effective communication skills (both verbal and written), punctuality, consistent attendance, and a willingness to work overtime are essential.
  • Must comprehend operational procedures, equipment usage, and computerized instructions.
  • A commitment to quality and the ability to identify subpar ingredients while optimizing resource use to enhance productivity is crucial.

Work Environment:

Regular exposure to varying temperatures, environmental conditions, and potential chemical hazards is expected. Personal protective equipment, such as respirators, may be necessary.

Impact of Errors:

Neglecting safety protocols or hazardous waste training can result in personal injury, production losses, and increased manufacturing costs. Inadequate production levels may lead to delays in customer shipments.

Physical Requirements:

Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and maneuvering containers weighing up to 500 lbs. Frequent physical activities such as standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, and crouching are required. Proficiency in using foot pedals and typing on a computer may also be necessary.

Equipment Utilization:

May be required to operate forklifts and other automated compounding machinery as directed.

Team Collaboration:

While there are no direct supervisory duties, being a cooperative team member is essential. Reporting any observed non-compliance or unsafe conditions to supervisors or safety managers is required.
