The primary role involves the precise blending of various components following specified formulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Combines materials as per established formulas utilizing both heating and cooling techniques. Evaluates materials to confirm that color, scent, and other attributes meet client specifications. Processes, filters, and samples materials as necessary.
- Adheres to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, and internal safety protocols, including the proper handling of all containers with suitable material-handling equipment, and tasks related to hazardous waste management. Ensures a clean and organized workspace at all times. Reports any discrepancies or issues to management.
- Keeps meticulous records of all operational activities. Documents necessary information on daily logs. Conducts inventory checks and makes adjustments as required. Performs additional tasks as needed, such as dispensing and managing materials.
Required Qualifications:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory, with a solid understanding of basic mathematical concepts (Metric vs. English systems).
- 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in a production setting.
- Familiarity with product characteristics, including color and scent, is advantageous, along with proficiency in computer operations and automated systems.
- Knowledgeable in dispensing or batch-processing manufacturing, barcoding, automated dosing systems, and forklift operation.
- Basic understanding of the interconnections between room operations and related systems is preferred.
- Ability to perform routine tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and follow directions with moderate supervision.
- Must be diligent, self-driven, committed to excellence, and aware of how daily activities impact customer satisfaction.
- Expected to meet production volume within set standards and timelines.
- Effective communication skills (both verbal and written), punctuality, consistent attendance, and readiness to work overtime are essential.
- Must comprehend work procedures, methods, the use of necessary equipment, and computerized instructions.
- Commitment to quality is crucial, with the ability to identify substandard ingredients and optimize resource use to enhance productivity.
Work Environment:
Regular exposure to varying temperatures, environmental conditions, fumes, dust, and gases. May require the use of a respirator for chemical exposure.
Impact of Errors:
Neglecting safety or hazardous waste training protocols may result in personal injury, production loss, and increased manufacturing costs. Inability to produce acceptable product volumes may lead to delays in customer shipments.
Physical Requirements:
Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and maneuvering, pushing, pulling, and rolling containers weighing up to 500 lbs. Frequent standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, grasping, and crouching is necessary. Use of foot pedals and typing on a computer may be required.
Equipment Utilization:
May need to wear a respirator or operate a forklift as directed. Various automated compounding machinery will be utilized.
Team Dynamics:
No direct supervisory duties, but teamwork is essential. Reporting observations of non-compliance or unsafe conditions to a supervisor or safety manager is required.
