Position Summary:

The Installation Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing flooring projects from inception to completion. This position involves thorough site inspections prior to installation, ensuring that all aspects of the project meet our high standards. You will collaborate with clients, sales personnel, and installation teams to address any issues that may arise during the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of substrates to assess their suitability for flooring installation, including moisture and alkaline testing.
  • Evaluate existing flooring to ensure compatibility with new materials.
  • Identify and assess any residues that may interfere with new flooring installations.
  • Inspect wall substrates for defects that could impact installation quality.
  • Ensure proper environmental conditions and lighting at job sites.
  • Assess site accessibility, including elevators, parking, and loading areas.
  • Organize storage solutions for materials delivered to the site.
  • Proactively visit job sites to prevent potential issues.
  • Maintain communication with job contacts to address concerns promptly.
  • Resolve installation challenges that may arise during the project.
  • Advise on safety protocols for each job site.
  • Facilitate communication between installers and job contacts to resolve discrepancies.
  • Inspect materials on-site for defects.
  • Convey job requirements to Installation Managers effectively.
  • Provide training to installers on new products and techniques.
  • Deliver necessary materials to expedite project completion.
  • Conduct pre-punch inspections while installers are present.
  • Perform post-installation inspections as required.
  • Assess job deficiencies and validate their legitimacy.
  • Ensure installers have the most current plans for their tasks.
  • Possess the ability to address punch list items or assist with installations as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • OSHA 10 Training Certification is a minimum requirement; OSHA 30 preferred or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Proven knowledge of flooring products and installation processes.
  • Strong mathematical skills, particularly in fractions and measurements.
  • Ability to read and understand written documentation and reports.
  • Skilled in visually identifying compliance and non-compliance of flooring products.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints.
  • Capable of completing daily reports digitally, including moisture testing and project updates.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as necessary.
