Key Responsibilities
The Packer plays a crucial role on the production floor, manually packing and organizing products into boxes, trays, and cartons while ensuring the final quality inspection of finished goods.

Duties Include:

• Preparing cardboard cartons/trays for product packing by folding, taping, sorting, and labeling. Ensuring tape guns/tapers are adequately supplied.

• Conducting visual inspections of final product packaging for integrity, including bag registration, code dates, pricing, and seals. Identifying and removing non-compliant products and reporting packaging issues.

• Filling cartons/displays according to packaging specifications and ensuring products are labeled correctly. Taping and sealing cartons as needed.

• Stacking the correct number of cartons/trays on pallets/skids using the appropriate stacking pattern. If necessary, operating a pallet jack to move finished goods weighing up to 300lbs.

• Clearing loose products from the work area; discarding defective bags, boxes, and trays; maintaining cleanliness by sweeping the floor.

• Assisting with product rework as per plant expectations.

• Adhering to safety and Good Manufacturing Practices guidelines for safe housekeeping and personal protection.

• Maintaining a clean work area and following 5S protocols.

• Storing packaging supplies in designated areas.

• Keeping aisles and exits clear of obstructions.

• Removing trash from the work area and ensuring cleanliness of turntables/areas; following safe lifting and carrying instructions.

• Performing sanitation tasks as directed, including equipment washes and cleanings.

• Preparing the line for startup and assisting with equipment changeovers as needed.

• Operating tray making and/or stapling machines when required.

• Being Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) certified and following LOTO procedures during mandatory cleanings.

• Reporting any issues to Machine Operators, Coordinators, or Supervisors as appropriate.

• Picking defects from the product stream.

• Performing other duties as assigned.

• Being available for mandatory overtime as required.

Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not mandatory.
Experience: 1-year production experience in a manufacturing setting preferred, but not mandatory.

Work Environment

Compensation and Benefits:
The starting rate for this full-time, hourly position is $18.60.
Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
