Job Overview


Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) Mission Technologies is on the lookout for a Senior RF or Electronic Systems Engineer who possesses the expertise and technical acumen necessary to tackle intricate "system-of-systems" engineering challenges.

This role entails providing technical leadership throughout all stages of hardware and software design, analysis, development, integration, implementation, verification, and validation of sophisticated engineering systems.

The responsibilities include evaluating and formulating requirements while identifying the optimal technologies to address complex engineering challenges.

Strong verbal communication skills are essential for effectively guiding and directing engineering design and analysis initiatives, including interactions with clients, as part of a collaborative team.

The utilization of appropriate software tools for design layout and documentation is a fundamental aspect of this position. A robust background in Testing and Evaluation is highly desirable, along with experience in controls and instrumentation if available.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct engineering tasks in one or more of the following disciplines: electronics, electrical, computer, mechanical, or related engineering fields. The ideal candidate must be a self-motivated individual capable of consistently delivering high-quality results with minimal supervision while maintaining ongoing communication with subordinates, peers, clients, and upper management.

Qualifications

Minimum Secret clearance required to start

Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with enhanced security checks

Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field

15 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's in a related field; 13 years with a Master's; or 10 years with a PhD

Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities

Excellent verbal communication skills

Experience in Radar Hardware Design, Test and Evaluation (T&E)

Proficiency in software tools including MATLAB

Background in RF, Fire Control Radar, or Electronic Warfare

Knowledge of Test & Evaluation (T&E) processes

Experience with anechoic chamber design, utilization, and maintenance, including calibration schemes, multi-path analysis, and optimization.

Preferred Skills

Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field

Familiarity with Digital Signal Processing (DSP) techniques, theory, and high-throughput implementation

Experience with Hardware in the Loop (HITL) testing

Knowledge of software programming, ideally with SIMULINK and C++

Ability to read and manipulate Altium / Orcad / AutoCAD / Multisim

Physical Requirements

Work environment may be office or industrial. Lifting and moving of materials should not exceed the guidelines set for one-man lifts.
