STR is seeking a Senior Model-Based Systems Engineer to join our innovative team. This role involves working across a diverse range of Department of Defense (DoD) mission areas, with opportunities for hybrid work arrangements based on project needs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in systems architecture, with experience throughout the Systems Engineering Lifecycle and a focus on Digital Engineering/Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide development initiatives through the Systems Engineering process utilizing MBSE methodologies that align with DoD Digital Engineering objectives.
  • Apply rigorous MBSE techniques using SysML in Cameo (MagicDraw) to ensure effective system design.
  • Mentor and train fellow Systems Engineers in the application of MBSE practices.
  • Collaborate closely with domain experts and software development teams to achieve program designs and digital engineering targets.
  • Establish traceability between MBSE model content and specialized analysis tools and simulations.

Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance with the capability to obtain a Top Secret (TS) Security Clearance, requiring U.S. citizenship.
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience as a Technical Project Lead.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience working with SysML models in Cameo or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with software-intensive systems and open architecture.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance.
  • Over 5 years of experience in system architecture using modeling tools.
  • Expertise in areas such as Radar, Electronic Warfare, Acoustic Systems, Antenna Apertures, Sensor Resource Management, and Cyber Physical Systems.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C/C++, or Python.
  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
  • Knowledge of government open architectures, including Open Mission Systems.
  • Experience with the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM).
