Overview:

The Event Operations Supervisor will play a pivotal role in managing all facets of event execution, including the setup and production of various events. This position will oversee event security and the operational management of the facility, which encompasses policy development, production oversight, maintenance, housekeeping, procurement, and contracted services. The individual in this role will ensure the delivery of exceptional service to all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the conversion processes for portable basketball courts, concerts, conferences, and other events.
  • Ensure the facility is prepared and operations run seamlessly during events.
  • Assist the Director of Operations in developing and maintaining a comprehensive Standard Operating Procedure for all facility operations.
  • Coordinate operational activities with other departments and external contractors to guarantee smooth event execution.
  • Recruit, train, motivate, and assess the performance of Housekeeping and Operations Supervisors as well as part-time staff.
  • Facilitate and/or coordinate training for departmental staff.
  • Promote a safe and efficient working environment while ensuring staff adherence to safety protocols.
  • Plan, direct, coordinate, and review the operational work plans for facility events.
  • Manage the procurement of supplies and materials for housekeeping and operations, ensuring compliance with budgetary constraints; oversee inventory and maintenance of supplies.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service to both internal and external clients.
  • Maintain a customer-centric approach in all interactions.
  • Collaborate with staff Supervisors to address performance issues; implement timely disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Support the Director of Operations in the daily management of facility operations.
  • Coordinate staff labor hours and report allocations to the Accounting Manager.
  • Participate in the development and management of the Operations budget; forecast staffing, equipment, materials, and supply needs; monitor and approve expenditures, making adjustments as required.
  • Maintain compliance with hazardous materials communication programs, material safety data sheets, and necessary records and permits; stay informed about relevant Federal, State, and Local regulations.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in event management, sports administration, business administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in facility operations supervision or a similar role within a public assembly venue, with a strong understanding of setup, housekeeping, conversion, and event coordination.
  • Proven supervisory skills and principles, with experience managing work crews and adapting to varied schedules in facility operations.
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational capabilities.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license or the ability to obtain one.
  • Willingness to acquire valid forklift certification.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
