This role of Logistics Operations Supervisor is crucial to the success of our warehouse and manufacturing operations. The individual in this position will oversee the receiving, shipping, and material handling functions within the warehouse, focusing on the design and implementation of effective product movement and storage systems. Key responsibilities include ensuring cost efficiency, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining high standards of service and safety across all shifts. This role involves managing multiple shifts in both unionized and non-unionized environments while fostering the development of a team of supervisors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure a safe and healthy workplace by establishing, adhering to, and enforcing safety standards and procedures in compliance with legal regulations.
  • Maintain quality standards for finished products.
  • Facilitate the seamless delivery of products to the Sales organization.
  • Contribute to operational objectives by providing insights and recommendations for warehouse operations to inform strategic planning.
  • Review and prepare action plans to ensure productivity, quality, and customer service standards are consistently met.
  • Achieve financial targets by forecasting needs, preparing budgets, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and implementing corrective measures.
  • Enhance team capabilities through effective employee relations, recruitment, training, and communication with both hourly and salaried personnel.
  • Motivate and develop the team to address daily operational challenges and achieve both short- and long-term performance objectives.
  • Lead change initiatives while managing business transformations and minimizing impacts on personnel.
  • Collaborate across functions to assist teams in resolving operational challenges.
  • Establish warehouse operations systems by determining requirements for product handling and storage.
  • Develop processes for receiving products, utilizing equipment, managing inventory, and overseeing shipping operations.
  • Implement improvements in warehouse operations systems by leading continuous improvement projects and analyzing workflow, staffing, and equipment layout.
  • Address and resolve all receiving and shipping issues to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain a regular presence on the warehouse floor and may be required to lift items up to 40 lbs.
  • Occasional operation of forklifts and manufacturing equipment may be necessary.
  • Flexibility to work off-shifts and weekends, with minimal travel requirements.
Compensation & Benefits
  • The anticipated compensation range for this position is between $102,800 - $172,100 based on a full-time schedule.
  • Actual starting salary will be determined based on location, job-related skills, and experience.
  • Performance-based bonuses may be available, with a target payout of 12% of annual salary.
  • Paid time off is available, subject to eligibility, including parental leave, vacation, sick leave, and bereavement.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in engineering, business, operations management, or a related field.
  • Experience in continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean Six Sigma certification, TPM, lean manufacturing) demonstrated through successful project completion.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in operations/logistics or supply chain, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role preferred.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management systems.
  • Forklift certification is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to lead a team-oriented approach to decision-making.
  • Demonstrated success in a results-driven, challenging environment.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with a focus on mentoring and developing others.
  • Effective skills in coaching, facilitation, presentation, and team building.
  • This position is limited to individuals with the right to work indefinitely in the United States.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • A safe driving record is strongly preferred.
