Key Responsibilities:- Lead a vendor management group by communicating with and developing staff members, and building consensus for programs and goals that support a business, function, or geographic area.
- Develop and articulate a short-term strategic vision for areas of responsibility.
- Responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive vendor management strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives.
- Establishes and manages a robust vendor governance framework, including vendor risk assessment, due diligence, contract negotiation, and performance management.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with key vendors, ensuring collaboration, communication, and proactive issue resolution.
- Designs and implements policies, processes, and procedures for vendor onboarding, contract management, performance monitoring, and issue escalation.
- Evaluates and implements appropriate technology solutions to automate and streamline vendor management processes.
- Leads and develops a high-performing vendor management team, providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship.
- Develops and tracks key performance indicators (KPIs) related to vendor performance, compliance, and cost optimization.
- Regularly reports findings and insights to senior management.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry best practices in vendor management. Proactively identifies and mitigates potential risks related to vendor engagement.
- Stays abreast of industry trends and best practices in vendor management and continuously seeks opportunities to enhance the VMO's effectiveness.
- Works on complex matters where analysis of issues, data, processes, and situations require advanced knowledge of functional objectives and industry/technical knowledge which may have long-term impact.
- Responsible for directing staffing appropriately for department(s) and collaborating with HR to fulfill requirements.
- Performs related duties as required.
- Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- 8-12 years of relevant experience and 7+ years of leadership/management experience, required.
- Master's Degree, preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in vendor management, procurement, or a related field.
- Proven experience leading and managing a vendor management team, including offshore vendors.
- Strong understanding of vendor risk management, contract negotiation, and performance evaluation.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams across all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in vendor management software and tools.
- Demonstrated ability to drive results and achieve strategic objectives.
