Job Overview

Acumatica is a forward-thinking organization dedicated to innovation in cloud-based ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) solutions, serving clients globally. We pride ourselves on being distinctively designed to empower small and medium-sized enterprises to excel in the digital landscape.

We are currently in search of a Vice President of Product Strategy to oversee our ERP offerings tailored for the Distribution, Retail, and Manufacturing sectors. In this pivotal role, you will guide our product team in shaping strategic initiatives, managing the delivery of multiple product lines, and driving both growth and profitability.

This position will report directly to the Chief Product Officer.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and nurture the product management team, fostering a culture of high performance and professional development.
  • Define and implement the product strategy and roadmap for our ERP solutions, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic objectives and market needs.
  • Develop comprehensive business cases for new vertical solutions, providing critical insights for executive decision-making.
  • Regularly present updates to executives and stakeholders on product progress and market performance.
  • Encourage innovation and continuous improvement within the product management function.
  • Oversee product packaging and market entry strategies throughout the lifecycle of product lines.
  • Establish customer reference programs and retention strategies.
  • Represent Acumatica at industry events, contributing to discussions on resource allocation and strategic decisions.
  • Take full ownership of the success of designated product lines.

Market Research:

  • Conduct thorough market research, including technology assessments and competitive analysis.
  • Provide quantitative insights on market size, product performance, and operational metrics.
  • Engage with customers and partners to gather valuable feedback and insights.
  • Effectively document and communicate market requirements.

Product Development and Launch:

  • Articulate conceptual ideas and design rationale to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with development teams on functional specifications and project timelines.
  • Oversee new product launch activities, ensuring cross-departmental coordination.
  • Manage the identification of beta customers and the associated release processes.
  • Provide input on documentation and training materials for the Education teams.
  • Ensure product quality aligns with customer expectations by reviewing outputs from the Quality Assurance team.
  • Develop and manage sales enablement tools, including pricing calculators and promotional materials.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience in product management or delivery within the ERP sector for Distribution, Retail, and Manufacturing.
  • Deep understanding of business software solutions, including ERP and related applications for small and medium enterprises.
  • 5+ years in a leadership role, demonstrating a blend of business insight and technical proficiency.
  • Proactive in understanding customer interactions and innovating solutions for broader market needs.
  • Detail-oriented with strong decision-making and time-management capabilities.
  • Experience in a large corporate environment, with a desire to leverage that knowledge in a more agile setting.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills, with a self-motivated approach to achieving goals.
