Position Overview:

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is pivotal in guiding the financial trajectory of Evergreen Home Loans. This executive role encompasses the management of all financial functions, the formulation and execution of strategies aimed at revenue enhancement, and the leadership of mergers and acquisitions. The ideal candidate will possess a visionary mindset, coupled with extensive expertise in finance, strategic planning, and M&A within the mortgage or financial services sector.

The CFO is tasked with providing forecasts and analyses concerning financial requirements, addressing all aspects related to cash flow, warehouse lines, and mortgage servicing rights credit facilities. In addition to overseeing the accounting framework, the CFO is instrumental in crafting and instituting financial procedures that bolster the company's fiscal well-being. This role also involves participating in the creation, execution, and assessment of the corporate business strategy, ensuring alignment with the organization’s vision and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Strategy & Leadership

  • Formulate and implement the financial strategy to facilitate growth, enhance revenue, and improve profit margins.
  • Engage in strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting across all operational levels, including departments and branches.
  • Develop and oversee financial plans to ensure sufficient capital and liquidity for growth while considering the desire for ownership retention.
  • Collaborate with the President to establish a continuity plan for succession and liquidity events for senior management.
  • Foster strong relationships with senior executives, identifying their needs and collaborating on business initiatives.
  • Analyze key performance indicators to uncover opportunities for revenue and profitability enhancement.
  • Supervise the Accounting, Human Resources, and IT divisions.

Capital Markets & Mortgage Servicing Rights (MSR)

  • Possess knowledge of Capital Markets and pipeline hedging strategies.
  • Oversee the management and valuation of MSRs, ensuring precise accounting and reporting.
  • Devise strategies to maximize MSR value while managing associated risks.
  • Supervise MSR hedging strategies to mitigate interest rate exposure.

Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A)

  • Lead M&A initiatives, including target identification, due diligence, negotiations, and integration processes.
  • Possess insights into profitable business models within the mortgage and finance sectors.
  • Build and maintain relationships with investment banks and financial advisors to support M&A efforts.
  • Oversee post-merger integration to ensure effective consolidation and realization of synergies.
  • Guide and mentor the accounting, finance, HR, and IT teams, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Attract and retain top talent aligned with organizational values.
  • Champion innovative change and manage the implementation of new initiatives.
  • Encourage personal growth among associates and develop individualized development plans.
  • Reinforce a collaborative team approach and communicate key initiatives effectively.
  • Facilitate regular one-on-one meetings with direct reports and departmental team meetings.

Financial Operations, Reporting & Risk Management

  • Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, reporting, treasury, tax, and compliance.
  • Identify and manage financial risks, including credit, liquidity, and market risks.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to stakeholders.
  • Implement robust internal controls and financial systems.
  • Develop risk management policies to mitigate key risks.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and legal standards.
  • Monitor performance metrics that align with the company's strategic goals.
  • Optimize banking relationships and enhance cash positions.

Human Resources Oversight

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to the HR Manager.
  • Manage employee benefits, focusing on cost-effective packages.
  • Enhance and enforce organizational policies and procedures to improve operational effectiveness.

IT Oversight

  • Guide the IT Manager in aligning technology initiatives with business objectives.
  • Ensure the financial viability of IT projects through effective budgeting and analysis.
  • Manage IT-related risks, including cybersecurity and compliance.

Communication & Customer Management

  • Ensure clear communication of organizational changes and updates.
  • Maintain positive relationships with internal customers, addressing their needs effectively.
  • Continuously seek ways to enhance internal customer satisfaction.

Performance Expectations:

  • Align all actions with the mission and values of Evergreen Home Loans.
  • Manage departmental productivity and financial metrics.
  • Foster a positive work environment and support associate development.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in business administration, finance, or accounting or equivalent experience.
  • 5-10 years of experience in the mortgage or related industry.
  • Capital Markets experience is advantageous.
  • Strong judgment, motivation, and work ethic.
  • Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform various physical tasks throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to twenty-five pounds.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment.

Benefits:

Compensation:

The total annual compensation for this role ranges from $250,000 to $330,000, depending on various factors.
