Position Overview:

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is pivotal in steering the financial trajectory of Evergreen Home Loans. This executive role encompasses the management of all financial functions, crafting and executing strategies aimed at revenue enhancement, and spearheading mergers and acquisitions. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader with extensive expertise in finance, strategic planning, and M&A within the mortgage or financial services sector. The CFO collaborates closely with Sales & Production Leadership to leverage comprehensive insights into the competitive mortgage landscape, demonstrating the ability to foresee and adapt to market dynamics.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Strategy & Leadership

  • Formulate and implement the financial strategy to bolster growth, elevate revenues, enhance margins, and optimize profitability.
  • Engage in strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting across all operational levels, including departments and branches.
  • Design and oversee a financial plan ensuring adequate capital and liquidity for growth and resilience against market fluctuations.
  • Collaborate with the President to establish a continuity plan for succession and create liquidity events for senior management while preserving ownership control.
  • Foster robust relationships with senior executives and managers, identifying their needs and collaborating on business initiatives.
  • Monitor and assess key performance indicators to pinpoint opportunities for revenue and profitability improvement.
  • Supervise the Accounting, Human Resources, and IT departments.

Capital Markets & Mortgage Servicing Rights (MSR)

  • Possess knowledge of Capital Markets and hedging strategies for locked pipelines.
  • Oversee the management and valuation of MSRs, ensuring precise accounting and reporting.
  • Devise strategies to maximize the value of MSRs while managing associated risks.
  • Direct MSR hedging strategies to mitigate interest rate exposure.

Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A)

  • Lead M&A initiatives, including target identification, due diligence, negotiation, and integration.
  • Possess insights into profitable business models within the mortgage and finance sectors.
  • Build and maintain relationships with investment banks, financial advisors, and stakeholders to facilitate M&A activities.
  • Oversee post-merger integration to ensure successful consolidation and realization of synergies.
  • Guide and mentor the accounting, finance, HR, and IT teams, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Attract, develop, and retain top talent aligned with organizational values.
  • Champion change and effectively manage the implementation of innovative ideas.
  • Create an environment supporting personal growth and development plans for all associates.
  • Encourage team collaboration and maintain clear communication regarding key initiatives.
  • Facilitate regular one-on-one meetings with direct reports and departmental team meetings.

Financial Operations, Reporting & Risk Management

  • Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, reporting, treasury, tax, and compliance.
  • Identify and manage financial risks, including credit, liquidity, and market risks.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to stakeholders.
  • Implement and maintain robust internal controls and financial systems.
  • Develop and execute risk management policies to mitigate key risks.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Establish performance metrics supporting the company's strategic objectives.
  • Optimize operational best practices.

Human Resources Oversight

  • Provide guidance and support to the HR Manager.
  • Manage employee benefits, focusing on cost-effective packages.
  • Enhance and implement organizational policies and procedures to improve overall effectiveness.

IT Oversight

  • Guide the IT Manager in aligning IT strategy with business objectives.
  • Collaborate on technology initiatives that support financial goals and operational efficiency.
  • Manage IT-related risks, including cybersecurity and compliance.

Communication & Customer Management

  • Work with senior management to ensure organizational clarity across the company.
  • Maintain effective communication with internal customers to assess needs and develop solutions.
  • Strive to enhance internal customer satisfaction and strengthen client relationships.

Performance Expectations:

  • Align actions with the mission and values of Evergreen Home Loans.
  • Manage departmental productivity and financial metrics effectively.
  • Foster a positive work environment and mentor associates.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in business administration, finance, or accounting, or equivalent experience.
  • 5-10 years of experience in the mortgage or related industry.
  • Capital Markets experience is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated good judgment and strong character.
  • Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform various physical tasks, including sitting and standing for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to twenty-five pounds.

Benefits:

Compensation:

The total annual compensation for this role ranges from $250,000 to $330,000, influenced by factors such as location and experience.
