DEPARTMENT: OFFICE OF ADMISSIONS AND RECRUITMENT

BASIC FUNCTIONS: Under the general oversight of the Director of Admissions and Recruitment, this role is essential for the ongoing success and vitality of the institution. The selected candidate will support the college search and admissions process for prospective high school and transfer students. We seek an individual with a positive attitude, outstanding communication abilities, creativity, and a passion for a faith-based educational setting. This position oversees the front desk and acts as the initial point of contact for prospective students and their families. The role is crucial in achieving enrollment objectives related to applications, acceptances, and student enrollments. Availability for some weekends and after-hours work is necessary. The individual must align with the college's philosophy and mission.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Acts as a member of the Admissions team and is the first contact for prospective students and their families visiting the office.

2. Provides assistance to prospective students and their families by addressing inquiries, relaying messages, and clarifying the admissions process.

3. Ensures smooth office operations by managing communications, collecting and sending correspondence, and duplicating documents.

4. Responsible for the processing and data entry of applications, transcripts, and other relevant documents.

5. Aids in achieving recruitment targets.

6. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of Benedict College's academic, spiritual, recreational, social, extracurricular, and financial aid offerings, effectively communicating this information to prospective students.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

- Fundamental office skills

- Proficient written and verbal communication skills

- Competence in Microsoft Office applications

- Strong telephone etiquette

- Typing and word processing proficiency

- Effective documentation skills

- Reliability and professionalism

- Attention to detail

- Administrative writing and reporting capabilities

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

- Associate degree

- Valid driver's license

- One to two years of experience in office assistance
