Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Equipment Reliability Specialist to join our team at American Honda Motor Co Inc. As an Equipment Reliability Specialist, you will play a critical role in identifying and resolving chronic or critical equipment downtime issues, leading to improved overall equipment effectiveness and reduced maintenance costs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Root Cause Analysis: Conduct thorough root cause analysis to identify the underlying causes of equipment downtime and develop effective countermeasures to prevent recurrence.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Plant Manufacturing Equipment Services Department leadership team to share knowledge and best practices, and provide input on improved standardization of regional production systems.
  • Technical Support: Provide emergency technical support for complex problem analysis and countermeasure development as required.
  • Process Improvement: Assist Manufacturing Characteristics and Standards (MCS) and Equipment Production (EPD) associates by providing feedback and support on equipment-related trouble due to specification, design, and installation.
  • Countermeasure Development: Work with EPD associates to coordinate the assembly and installation of countermeasure activities.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (concentration in Manufacturing a plus) or related equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 2-8 years of engineering work experience in Manufacturing (focus in specific Automotive category like Welding, Assembly, Paint, Stamping or Plastics a plus).
  • Skills: Strong understanding of automated equipment electrical hardware/software design, including knowledge of machine safety controls, servo position control, field I/O networking, PLC, and HMI. Proficient with Microsoft Office and basic 2D and 3D CAD tools.
