Job Overview

Continental Disc Corporation, LLC ("CDC") is a leading designer and manufacturer of safety-critical products aimed at safeguarding pressure-containing vessels from catastrophic failures. With a rich history of over 55 years, CDC is recognized globally for its exceptional quality and reliability in various sectors including chemicals, oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, and aerospace.

This leadership role is focused on overseeing Quality Control operations at the CDC facility. The Quality Control Manager will report directly to the Vice President of Manufacturing and will collaborate closely with the Vice President of Global Quality and Certifications. The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure that all products manufactured meet both customer specifications and CDC's engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily operations of Receiving, In-process, and Final Inspection teams.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures outlined in the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Collaborate with the QA Manager to update and refine procedures and work instructions as necessary.
  • Lead the Corrective Action Board (CAB) to ensure timely and effective responses to product quality issues.
  • Represent Quality Control during regulatory audits and customer inspections.
  • Conduct internal audits to assess compliance with established standards.
  • Coordinate with various departments to resolve quality-related issues.
  • Supervise and mentor quality control inspectors, providing performance evaluations and support.
  • Contribute to budgeting and long-term planning for the Quality Control Department.
  • Maintain calibration and control systems for precision measuring and testing equipment.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for employees on quality standards and practices.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a background in quality assurance within a manufacturing context, with a minimum of two years in a management or supervisory role. A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred. Knowledge of inspection methods, manufacturing processes, and quality management systems is essential.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in using ERP systems and MS Office for data analysis.
  • Familiarity with process improvement methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and organizational abilities.
