Position Overview:

A prominent client is in search of an IT Systems Engineer to join their IT Operations Team. This role is integral to a larger group dedicated to maintaining the corporate computing landscape, encompassing both on-premises and cloud environments. The ideal candidate will possess robust technical expertise, exceptional communication abilities, and a collaborative spirit. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and be on-call for organizational support is essential. This position is hybrid, requiring on-site presence for three days a week.

Key Responsibilities:


• Develop and standardize system configurations


• Oversee Microsoft Windows Server, VMware Cluster, and Data Storage environments


• Manage backup and recovery operations effectively


• Administer Azure virtual machines, storage, and networking


• Implement and uphold disaster recovery protocols


• Address incident resolution and resolve technical issues impacting production promptly


• Lead projects and ensure deliverables are met within specified timelines


• Collaborate with Security and Compliance teams to address vulnerabilities swiftly


• Adhere to Change Management Policies and Guidelines


• Create and maintain operational runbooks and automation scripts.

Required Qualifications:


• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or equivalent experience


• Minimum of 3 years' experience in an IT Operations role, managing servers and storage in a professional setting


• At least 3 years' experience with VMware, Citrix, and Microsoft technologies


• Proficient knowledge of core technologies including AD, DNS, DHCP, SCCM, and TCP/IP


• Experience with scripting languages/platforms, with a strong emphasis on PowerShell


• Familiarity with server application monitoring systems


• Knowledge of backup systems for both on-premises and cloud environments


• Ability to prioritize tasks and complete work efficiently


• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and critical thinking skills


• Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively


• Self-motivated with a proactive approach to tasks


• Capability to lift 30-50 lbs without assistance


• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and participate in on-call activities as needed


• Up to 15% travel may be required for office visits and project-related activities
