A client of TEKsystems is in search of an IT Systems Engineer to enhance their IT Operations Team. This role is integral to a broader group tasked with maintaining the corporate computing landscape, both on-premises and in the cloud. The successful candidate will possess a robust technical background, exceptional communication abilities, and a strong commitment to teamwork. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and be on-call for organizational support is essential. This role requires a hybrid work arrangement, necessitating on-site presence three days a week.

Key Responsibilities:


• Develop and standardize system configurations


• Oversee Microsoft Windows Server, VMware Cluster, and Data Storage environments


• Manage backup and recovery processes


• Administer Azure virtual machines, storage, and networking


• Implement and uphold disaster recovery protocols


• Address incident resolution and rectify all technical challenges affecting production promptly


• Lead projects and ensure deliverables are met within established timelines


• Collaborate with Security and Compliance teams to resolve vulnerabilities efficiently


• Follow Change Management Policies and Guidelines diligently


• Create and update runbooks and automation processes.

Required Qualifications:


• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or equivalent experience


• Minimum of 3 years in an IT Operations role, managing servers and storage in a professional setting


• At least 3 years of experience with VMware, Citrix, and Microsoft technologies


• Proficient understanding of core technologies including AD, DNS, DHCP, SCCM, and TCP/IP


• Experience with scripting languages/platforms, with a strong emphasis on PowerShell


• Familiarity with server application monitoring systems


• Knowledge of backup systems for both on-premises and cloud environments


• Ability to prioritize tasks and complete work efficiently


• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and critical thinking capabilities


• Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively


• Self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to take initiative


• Capability to lift 30-50 lbs without assistance


• Willingness to work outside of standard business hours, including nights and weekends, as needed for projects and on-call duties


• Occasional travel may be required for office visits, upgrades, or projects
