Position Overview:

TEKsystems is in search of an Infrastructure Systems Specialist to join our IT Operations Team. This role is integral to a collaborative group dedicated to managing the corporate IT environment, both on-premises and in the cloud. The successful candidate will possess a robust technical background, outstanding communication abilities, and a strong commitment to teamwork. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and be on-call is essential for this position. This role requires in-person attendance three days a week at our headquarters.

Key Responsibilities:


• Develop and standardize system configurations


• Oversee Microsoft Windows Server, VMware Clusters, and Data Storage systems


• Administer backup and recovery processes


• Manage Azure virtual machines, storage solutions, and networking


• Implement and uphold disaster recovery protocols


• Address incidents and resolve technical challenges affecting production promptly


• Lead projects and ensure deliverables are met within established timelines


• Collaborate with Security and Compliance teams to address vulnerabilities efficiently


• Follow Change Management Policies and Procedures


• Create and maintain operational documentation and automation scripts.

Required Qualifications:


• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or equivalent experience


• Minimum of 3 years in an IT Operations role, managing servers and storage in a professional setting


• At least 3 years of experience with VMware, Citrix, and Microsoft technologies


• Proficient in core technologies such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, SCCM, and TCP/IP


• Experience with scripting languages, particularly strong PowerShell skills are essential


• Familiarity with server application monitoring tools


• Knowledge of backup systems for both on-premises and cloud environments


• Ability to prioritize tasks and complete work efficiently


• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and critical thinking capabilities


• Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively


• Self-motivated with a proactive approach to work


• Capability to lift 30-50 lbs without assistance


• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and participate in on-call duties as required


• Up to 15% travel may be necessary for office visits and project work
