Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY
This role is primarily tasked with spearheading and implementing optimal practices within the manufacturing sector. The individual will take proactive measures to foster ongoing enhancements across various production processes, focusing on minimizing tooling expenses, streamlining material flow, and establishing efficient cycle times. The goal is to meet the manufacturing objectives and targets set by the organization. This position involves leading, facilitating, executing, and managing projects aimed at significantly reducing costs through the application of Lean methodologies, SMED, and Six Sigma techniques.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Formulate operational strategies that encompass capacity planning for full-time equivalents, equipment, and spatial requirements.

• Design production lines and conduct balanced loading analyses, including layout creation and execution.

• Plan, implement, and report on layout modifications for New Product Development (NPD) initiatives, adjustments to existing programs, and manage relevant utility updates.

• Develop, publish, and sustain operational performance indicators.

• Lead revisions to standard labor, overhead, and material cost adjustments resulting from shifts in customer demand, new program launches, and enhancements to standard times.

• Optimize the use of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools to assist in conducting feasibility studies, ensuring that incurred costs are justified.

• Analyze production schedules, engineering specifications, process flows, and other relevant information to comprehend methods and activities in manufacturing and services.

• Assess various necessary improvements, conduct value analysis, and identify opportunities to reduce costs in engineering and manufacturing applications.

• Collaborate with senior management and related personnel to develop designs and clarify or resolve pertinent issues.

• Provide guidance in preparing layouts and detailed drawings that will ultimately enhance manufacturing processes.

• Innovate and lead strategies aimed at cost reduction without compromising quality standards, ensuring increased efficiency and quality while making recommendations.

• Conduct research, design, and development work related to manufacturing processes, including assembly methods, production flow, and production equipment.

• Offer leadership to other departments and maintain effective interdepartmental relationships.

• Proactively address and resolve issues as they arise or seek assistance promptly.

• Maintain a thorough understanding of company policies and procedures.

• Acquire comprehensive knowledge of management software relevant to the shop floor.

• Adhere to company, quality, and safety standards, policies, and procedures.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 5 to 7 years of experience in a manufacturing setting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience in quality within a manufacturing context.

• Green Belt certification preferred, with training available to meet this requirement.

• Adaptability to embrace new changes in lean manufacturing practices and stay updated with the latest developments in the field.

• Highly organized with the ability to quickly identify and resolve problems.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, coupled with excellent planning and implementation capabilities.

• Self-motivated with a positive outlook and results-oriented approach.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with others.

• Strong analytical abilities combined with negotiation skills.

• Advanced proficiency in Excel is preferred.

• Must possess the ability to read, write, and speak fluent English.
