Job Overview:
This role is crucial for spearheading and implementing best practices within the manufacturing sector. The individual will take proactive measures to foster continuous enhancement across various manufacturing operations, focusing on minimizing tooling expenses, optimizing material flow, and establishing efficient cycle times. The goal is to meet the manufacturing objectives of the organization effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate operational strategies that encompass capacity planning for personnel, equipment, and workspace.
- Conduct production line design and balanced loading assessments, including layout development and execution.
- Plan and oversee layout modifications for new product development (NPD) initiatives and adjustments to existing programs.
- Establish, publish, and monitor operational performance indicators.
- Lead updates to standard labor, overhead, and material cost adjustments in response to customer demand fluctuations and new program launches.
- Utilize Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to prepare feasibility studies, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
- Analyze production schedules, engineering specifications, and process flows to gain insights into manufacturing and service activities.
- Evaluate necessary improvements and conduct value analysis to identify cost-reduction opportunities in engineering and manufacturing.
- Collaborate with senior management and relevant personnel to design solutions and address pertinent issues.
- Guide the preparation of layouts and detailed drawings aimed at enhancing manufacturing processes.
- Develop and implement strategies to reduce costs while maintaining quality standards, thereby improving efficiency.
- Conduct research, design, and development activities related to manufacturing processes, including assembly methods and production flow.
- Provide leadership across departments and maintain effective interdepartmental relationships.
- Address and resolve issues promptly or seek assistance when necessary.
- Understand and adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Acquire comprehensive knowledge of management software relevant to the shop floor.
- Ensure compliance with company quality and safety standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 5 to 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience in quality within manufacturing.
- Green Belt certification preferred; training available to meet this requirement.
- Ability to adapt to changes in lean manufacturing practices and stay updated on industry developments.
- Highly organized with strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with effective planning and implementation abilities.
- Self-motivated with a positive outlook and results-driven approach.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively.
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel is preferred.
- Fluency in English is required.
Work Environment:
The work is conducted in an office setting with a moderate noise level. The characteristics of the work environment are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this position.
