Position Title: Operations Excellence Coordinator

Department: Operations Management

Location: Sturtevant, WI

Job Overview:

This role is essential in spearheading and implementing best practices within the manufacturing sector. The incumbent will take proactive measures to foster continuous enhancements across various manufacturing processes, focusing on minimizing tooling expenses and optimizing material flow while establishing efficient cycle times. The goal is to align with the manufacturing objectives of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Formulate operational strategies that encompass capacity planning for personnel, equipment, and spatial requirements.
  2. Conduct analyses for production line design and balanced loading, including layout creation and execution.
  3. Oversee and report on layout modifications for new product development (NPD) initiatives and existing program adjustments.
  4. Establish, publish, and monitor operational performance indicators.
  5. Lead updates to standard labor, overhead, and material cost adjustments in response to fluctuations in customer demand and program introductions.
  6. Utilize Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to prepare feasibility studies, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
  7. Analyze production schedules, engineering specifications, and process flows to comprehend manufacturing and service activities.
  8. Evaluate necessary improvements and conduct value analysis to identify cost-reduction opportunities in engineering and manufacturing.
  9. Collaborate with senior management and relevant personnel to develop designs and resolve pertinent issues.
  10. Guide the preparation of layouts and detailed drawings to enhance manufacturing processes.
  11. Devise and implement methods to reduce costs while maintaining quality standards, thereby improving efficiency.
  12. Conduct research, design, and development related to manufacturing processes, including assembly methods and production flow.
  13. Provide leadership across departments and foster collaboration with all areas of the organization.
  14. Address and resolve issues promptly or seek assistance as necessary.
  15. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of management software relevant to the shop floor.
  16. Adhere to company policies, quality standards, and safety regulations.
  17. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in a manufacturing setting or an equivalent combination of education and experience in quality assurance.
  • Green Belt certification is preferred; training will be provided to meet this requirement.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in lean manufacturing practices and stay updated with industry advancements.
  • Strong organizational skills with a quick problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with effective planning and implementation capabilities.
  • Self-motivated with a positive outlook and results-driven approach.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel is preferred.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is required.

Work Environment:

The work is conducted in an office setting with a moderate noise level. The characteristics of the work environment are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this position.
