Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY
This role is primarily tasked with spearheading and implementing best practices within the manufacturing sector. The individual will take proactive measures to foster ongoing enhancements in various production processes, focusing on minimizing tooling expenses, optimizing material flow, and establishing efficient cycle times. The goal is to meet the manufacturing objectives and targets of the organization. This position will lead, facilitate, execute, and oversee projects aimed at significantly reducing costs through the application of Lean methodologies, SMED, and Six Sigma principles.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Formulate operational strategies that encompass capacity planning for personnel, equipment, and workspace.

• Conduct production line design and balanced loading assessments, including layout creation and execution.

• Plan, implement, and report on layout modifications for new product development initiatives, adjustments to existing programs, and manage relevant utility updates.

• Establish, publish, and maintain operational performance indicators.

• Lead revisions to standard labor, overhead, and material cost adjustments in response to fluctuations in customer demand, new program launches, and enhancements to standard times.

• Optimize the use of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools to assist in conducting feasibility studies and ensure that incurred costs are justified.

• Analyze production schedules, engineering specifications, process flows, and other relevant information to comprehend methods and activities in manufacturing and services.

• Assess various necessary improvements and conduct value analysis to identify cost-reduction opportunities in engineering and manufacturing applications.

• Collaborate with senior management and relevant personnel to create designs and address any pertinent issues.

• Provide guidance in preparing layouts and detailed drawings that will aid in enhancing manufacturing processes.

• Develop and implement strategies aimed at reducing costs while maintaining quality standards to ensure improved efficiency and quality, making recommendations as necessary.

• Conduct research, design, and development work related to manufacturing processes, including assembly methods, production flow, and production equipment.

• Offer leadership to other departments and foster effective interdepartmental relationships.

• Address and resolve issues promptly or seek assistance when necessary.

• Understand and adhere to company policies and procedures.

• Acquire comprehensive knowledge of management software relevant to the shop floor.

• Comply with company, quality, and safety standards, policies, and procedures.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 5 to 7 years of experience in a manufacturing setting; or a combination of education and experience in quality within a manufacturing context.

• Green Belt certification preferred, though training is available to meet this requirement.

• Ability to adapt to new developments in Lean manufacturing and stay informed about the latest advancements in the field.

• Highly organized with the capability to quickly identify and resolve issues.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with excellent planning and implementation abilities.

• Self-motivated with a positive outlook and results-oriented approach.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with others.

• Strong analytical capabilities coupled with negotiation skills.

• Advanced proficiency in Excel is preferred.

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
