Staff Services Officer I at Texas Parks and Wildlife

Under the guidance of the Director of Interpretation, this position is responsible for executing a variety of administrative functions aimed at improving visitor experiences at Texas State Parks. The role provides support to multiple teams within the Interpretive Services division by delivering consultative and technical assistance in areas such as procurement, contract oversight, budget management, and human resources administration related to the Interpretive Services Program.
- Operates under moderate supervision with some discretion for independent decision-making.
- Must adhere to all regulations and procedures set forth by the Agency, Division, and Branch.
- Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum of three years of experience in administrative support roles
- Background in procurement and customer service
- Completion of Texas Basic Public Purchasing training is required within six months of employment
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Public Administration, or Business Administration
- Experience with State of Texas purchasing processes and staff training
- Possession of a Certified Texas Contract Developer License
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Able to perform under pressure and meet deadlines
- Excellent organizational and office management capabilities
- Experience in relationship building and networking
- Standard working hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday
- May require occasional work during holidays and weekends
- Eligible for telecommuting two days per week with prior approval
- May need to operate a State vehicle and travel as necessary
- Compliance with TPWD dress code and safety regulations is mandatory
