Position Summary

This Letter of Appointment (LOA) represents a temporary, full-time role.

Assignments are determined on a semester basis and depend on factors such as student enrollment, funding availability, and ongoing satisfactory performance.

Faculty schedules may vary each semester, and candidates might be required to teach during evenings, weekends, summers, or through online and hybrid formats.

Key Responsibilities

- Instruct freshmen and sophomore courses in Pipefitting.
- Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to student learning, effectively integrate technology into the curriculum, and foster an engaging learning environment.
- Deliver classes according to established syllabi, outlines, and instructional materials.
- Maintain precise student records in alignment with institutional requirements.
- Submit necessary student documentation to the Admissions & Records Office as per the designated timeline.
- Oversee, evaluate, and enhance the educational experience of students in accordance with approved curricula and procedures.
- Provide academic guidance and support to students as needed.

All faculty members are expected to be present on campus for 35 hours weekly and engage in professional development, departmental committees, commencement activities, and other responsibilities as outlined in the Faculty Workload and Responsibilities Policy.

Faculty may also be tasked with teaching evening, weekend, summer, online, hybrid, and dual credit courses across various campuses.

Additional Responsibilities

- Engage in campus committees as required.
- Promote and recruit for the Pipefitting program.
- Participate in professional development opportunities, both on-campus and externally.
- Perform other assigned duties as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must possess either ten (10) years of relevant work experience in a related field (with the ability to obtain an associate's degree within two years without class overloads) or twenty (20) years of work experience in a relevant field without a degree.

Preferred Qualifications:
- An associate's degree (or higher) with at least two (2) years of related non-teaching experience, or a bachelor's degree (or higher) with one (1) year of relevant experience.
- Prior experience in online teaching and certification.
- Familiarity with Blackboard Learning Management System.
