Position Overview

This Letter of Appointment (LOA) represents a temporary, full-time role. Assignments are made on a semester-to-semester basis and depend on factors such as student enrollment, funding availability, and satisfactory performance.

Faculty schedules may vary each semester. The selected candidate might be required to teach during evenings, weekends, summers, online, in hybrid formats, and/or through distance education.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Instruct freshmen and sophomore courses in Machining and Millwright.
  • Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to student learning, the integration of technology into educational practices, and the promotion of engaged scholarship.
  • Deliver classes in accordance with established syllabi, outlines, and instructional materials.
  • Maintain precise student records in alignment with institutional requirements.
  • Submit necessary student reports to the relevant office according to established timelines.
  • Guide, evaluate, and assess the educational experiences of students in line with approved curricula and procedures.
  • Provide academic counseling and support to students as needed.
  • All faculty members are expected to be present on campus for 35 hours each week and engage in professional development, departmental, and college committees, commencement, and other activities as outlined in the Faculty Workload and Responsibilities Policy.
  • Faculty may also be required to teach evening, weekend, summer, online, hybrid, and dual credit courses across various campuses.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities
  • Engage in campus-related committees as necessary.
  • Promote and recruit for the Machining and Millwright program.
  • Participate in professional development activities, both on-campus and off.
  • Perform other assigned duties as required.
Minimum Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Meet one of the following criteria:
    • Bachelor's degree (or higher) with five years of relevant work experience.
    • Associate's degree (or higher) with five years of relevant experience.
    • No degree with ten years of relevant work experience, with the ability to obtain an Associate's degree within two years without class overloads until degree completion.
    • No degree with twenty years of relevant work experience.
  • CMEF certification is required (to be obtained within one semester of hire) for teaching designated sections.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience and certification in online teaching.
  • Familiarity with Blackboard Learning Management System.
