Position Overview:

This Letter of Appointment (LOA) represents a temporary, full-time faculty position. Assignments are determined on a semester-by-semester basis and are dependent on factors such as student enrollment, funding availability, and satisfactory performance.

Faculty schedules may vary each semester, and candidates should be prepared to teach during evenings, weekends, summers, online, hybrid, and distance education formats.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver instruction for introductory and intermediate Machining/Millwright courses.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to fostering student learning and integrating technology into the curriculum.
  • Adhere to approved syllabi and instructional materials while teaching assigned courses.
  • Maintain accurate student records in accordance with institutional requirements.
  • Submit necessary student reports timely to the Admissions & Records Office.
  • Guide and assess student learning experiences in line with established curricula and procedures.
  • Provide academic support and guidance to students as needed.

All faculty members are expected to be present on campus for 35 hours per week and engage in professional development, departmental activities, and college events as outlined in the Faculty Workload and Responsibilities Policy. Faculty may also be tasked with teaching in various formats across multiple campuses.


Additional Responsibilities:
  • Engage in campus committees as required.
  • Promote and recruit for the Machining/Millwright program.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities both on and off campus.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) with five years of relevant work experience.
  • Associate's degree (or higher) with five years of relevant work experience.
  • No degree with ten years of relevant work experience, with the ability to obtain an Associate's degree within two years without class overloads.
  • No degree with twenty years of relevant work experience.

CMEF certification is required within one semester of hire for teaching designated sections.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in online teaching and certification.
  • Familiarity with Blackboard Learning Management System.
