Job Summary

C I D Pa is seeking a detail-oriented and resourceful individual to join our team as a Medical Records Clerk and Prior Authorization Specialist. This position plays a critical role in maintaining accurate and confidential patient records, as well as facilitating insurance pre-authorizations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Record Management: Organize, file, and maintain patient medical records in a secure and organized manner.
  • Information Verification: Ensure the accuracy and completeness of patient information, including demographics, medical history, test results, and treatment plans.
  • Record Retrieval: Retrieve and prepare patient charts for healthcare providers and staff in a timely manner.
  • Document Scanning: Assist with the scanning and indexing of paper documents into the electronic medical records (EMR) system.
  • Record Auditing: Perform regular audits to identify and correct any inconsistencies or errors in patient records.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with healthcare professionals and staff to maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Insurance Verification: Assist with insurance verification, pre-authorization, and referral processes as needed.
  • Pre-Authorization: Communicate with insurance carriers and healthcare providers to ensure timely and accurate pre-authorizations for medical procedures and treatments.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain the confidentiality and security of patient information.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with administrative tasks, such as data entry, correspondence, and scheduling appointments as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Previous experience as a medical records clerk, prior authorization specialist, or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with medical terminology, diagnoses, and procedures.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using computer systems and software, including electronic medical records (EMR) and Microsoft Office.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
